Bible Notes: Grace (Jumping Around Isaiah) | Part I

Story Time: “Journey to Isaiah 44” One day, the Lord asked me to turn my phone off.  As He spoke, He gave me this vision:  In its main frame was a serene scene.  A Bible was laid open on my bed.   Soft light streamed in like white mist through my nearby window.  A distinctive peace visits me whenever I read the Word of God.  From the vision, this peace emanated.  Though my phone was not in the frame, I had surely received the Lord's message.  The signal must have been bad, though, as I had only received this much:  “Read verses... of chapter... of... in... of the Bible.”  With a smiling heart (and surely not without fighting my desire to continue messaging), I decided to do as He  requested of me.   I abandoned my sweet, dying phone on my parents' dresser to retrieve my Bible.  Upon entering my room, I teetered to a halt.  On which topic did the Lord want me to read?  “Should I read about something good or solemn?  Maybe I should read about love...?”  Judas the Iscariot came to

“The People of Light” (I) | Light and Darkness

In this day and age, it is unlikely for one to be unaware of the suffering being experienced globally.  We all hear the Earth as she groans.  To preserve our sanity, many of us have covered our ears. Situated within suffering is a peculiar body of people whose hope appears inextinguishable.  Within the Earth grimacing at chaos rises a contrasting melodic sound.  With one voice, the people sing songs of joy and triumph, shifting the atmosphere.  Their words and hands share healing.  Their stories of enduring dark pasts inspire.  Even in dire heartache and grief, their recovery is sure.  Their peace remains unable to be permanently stolen.  Despite the steady decline of society’s circumstances, this people declares resolute, “It is well”.  If they have had and are having the same human experiences as the rest of the world, how do they live beyond the suffering? These people are called the People of Light, Children of the God of Israel.  Each carries a ’light’ within that is unexplainable
