“The People of Light” (II) | Light and Darkness

Recap: Yahweh, the God of Israel, is the “Light” the People of Light follow— the Light of the World.   His radiant presence expels darkness in the mind, heart, and home.  Sadly, for various reasons, the God of Israel is widely misunderstood, even among His own people.   Myths about God's nature are widespread and diverse.  Normally, they are gradually cleared in relationship with Him.  Though misperceived as prideful,  resentful, uncaring, oppressive, silent, impatient and stern, He is humble, blameless, understanding, joyful, can be spoken to transparently, responsive, pure in heart, a true “friend”, liberator, giver of peace and rest, and One who dispels and hates hate.  Oftentimes, His nature completely contradicts what we human beings think of Him, and His desires contradict what we think they are. “Render your heart, not your garments.” Nonetheless and fortunately, God remains who He is, unlimited by limited human understanding.
