The Definition of Purpose
“. . . and to love.”
“for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through Him and for Him.”
— Colossians 1:16
"Then God said, “Let Us make mankind in Our image, in Our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
— Genesis 1:26
You (n): “A Beautiful, Unique
Expression of Love (God)”
“Creation” |
All of Creation was made for, by, and through Love (God). Human beings were made in the image of Love (God). If God is pure, white light, we are fragments of Him in different, uniquely-coloured hues, and you are a beautiful, unique expression of Love (God).
“A Canvas of Mankind” |
You are a paint stroke of your own shade upon a beautiful canvas of mankind in Creation. Your uniqueness is found in the irreplaceability of the combination of the fragments that compose your identity. Each and every detail of you, from your hair, to your voice, to your skin and eye pigmentation, to your passions, niche, abilities, and the way you laugh, your personality traits, spiritual gifts, and all that constitute who you are made to be are cumulatively a unique, natural expression of Love (God).
Agape Love and Unique Expressions
“...you are a beautiful, unique expression of Love (God).”
You have the ability to both naturally exhibit the agape love of God, and express God's love in a diverse and unique combination of ways related to who you are. Reflect a bit: What do you gravitate toward doing? What are you passionate about? What bothers you about society? What are you good at? What do you love doing? What can't you help doing? These are natural, aren't they? They are natural expressions of God's love related to who you are uniquely. Expressing love uniquely and expressing the agape love of God toward yourself and others makeup the “to love” half of purpose.
Rest; You Love Naturally.
You are a natural expression of God's love.
Being an expression of love happens simply by existing. Expressing love happens naturally; it does not require trying. The prerequisite for loving naturally, and fulfilling purpose, is receiving God's love. This is why, (as mentioned in Part I of this series), life is ultimately about experiencing an intimate, loving, progressing relationship with Love (God) in which you receive Him and His love more and more daily and eternally. Allow this to be your ultimate “why”, and loving will come naturally.
“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in My love.”
— John 15:9
Understanding the Assignment
There are things you are meant to do during this life of yours, naturally in enjoyment and freedom in fulfilling purpose. Whether it be public speaking on a stage, creating content, graphic designing, or otherwise, there are works predestined for you to do tied to who you are. The more you progress in your relationship with God, the more you are able to receive His love for you; the more you come face-to-face with who you are in your vastness and complexity; the more you embrace yourself; and the more you fulfill purpose naturally, in enjoyment, and in freedom.
“You are a beautiful, unique, natural expression of Love (God).
You don't have to try.
The “why” behind your existence is
to experience the love of God in
relationship with Him.
Receive.
Receive. Receive.
Loving Him, others and yourself
will come naturally
should you simply
. . .
receive!”
