To The Non-Christian: Christ Died For You
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
— Romans 5:8
Imagine: while you are being immoral, Christ dying for you out of love. While you hate Him, Christ dying for you out of love. While you misunderstand Him, Christ dying for you out of love. While you are ungrateful to Him, Christ dying for you out of love.
While you accuse Him wrongly, Christ dying for you out of love. While you betray Him, Christ dying for you out of love. While you are disobeying Him, Christ dying for you out of love. While you lust for men and/or women, Christ dying for you out of love.
While you are having sex before marriage, Christ dying for you out of love. While you worship money, sex, fame or other idols, Christ dying for you out of love. While you are watching pornography, Christ dying for you out of love.
While you are killing, stealing, slandering, abusing, Christ dying for you out of love. While you are unable to give Him anything because your mind is so wearied and bruised and “Un-Christian”, Christ dying for you out of love. While you aim to disprove the holy God's existence, Christ dying for you out of love.
While you are partying, smoking, drinking and empty, Christ believing you are beautiful and worthy, dying to purify you, and restoring His ability to accept you as His own son or daughter whilst loving you with an everlasting love.
While you sin, Christ dying for you in the excited hope that you would simply believe He did and give your life to Him to be made new.
Instead of giving us the penalty our wrongs deserve, Christ died for our sins out of unhindered, unconditional love so that we could be forgiven just by believing.
God is not a God who punishes us out of hatred for us. He is the God whose fairness is demonstrated in His giving penatlies for wrongdoings, who also took this penalty and died in love that we may be saved by grace. God is Love. God loves you. He will forgive you if you repent, and cleanse you of all your unrighteous deeds. He just wants you home.
God loves the unsaved. He is kind to the ungrateful and the unjustified. We are all human and have all sinned. While we are yet sinners, Christ died for us— for our salvation. This is the Gospel of Grace.
Do you believe?
Repent.
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."
-- Romans 10:9
