Prayer

“Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”
— ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Father, thank You for the privilege of being Yours. You are my Shepherd, who guides and leads me. You know my name. You already know and understand, with depth and clarity, the breadth of the situation in which I now have to make a life-altering decision or choice. You foresee the impact and outcome each choice will have on me, my destiny, and others, including those in my future. You have given me free Will to choose; I  submit to you, Father.

A good Father, You are. Your Will is good, pleasing and perfect. As You said in Jeremiah 29:11, Your plans are for my prosperity; never to harm me. You plan to give me a hope and a future. You love and are for me and those who will be connected to me in future. I trust Your heart towards me. Show me Your Will. Lead me to make a decision that aligns with Your plan and Your good, pleasing and perfect Will for my life. Lead me to make a decision that has a good outcome and will result in Your plans being fulfilled.

You know me completely. All-seeing One, You know the desires of my heart and my needs. Guide me to choose, without settling, the option that will fulfill the desires of my heart. May I have peace in my decision; may your peace confirm that I made the right choice.

I acknowledge that, like Joseph, though my logic and thought processes may guide me to make a particular choice, Your Will may be for me to make another choice. You are all-knowing. May I not decide based on logic, for I am limited in knowledge and may potentially forfeit a divine blessing through my decision. May I not choose based on solely my own reasoning, but by Your vast understanding and intimate knowledge of all things. Not my will, but Yours be done.

Speak Lord; Your son/daughter is listening. What should I choose? Communicate Your Will to me through any channel or medium You choose, whether by dreams, visions, hearing, Your Word, Your still small voice, etc. Thank You in advance for Your answer, Jesus. Thank You for listening.

In Your name I pray,
Amen.
