Post Introduction “Beloved, I pray that you may  prosper  in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” —  3 John 1:2 “ Glow Up! ” is simply a collection of letters about my experiences transitioning and maturing into a brighter, bolder, more bona fide version of myself.  This letter, the collection's second, is addressed to you; the topic of its body being “ Love ”.  May the ink of my pen flow through your bloodstream with what you need to read, and burst in luminescence upon arrival at the caverns of your heart.   Prayer God, Thank You for Your commitment to my becoming; my “glow up”. May I receive a deep revelation and intake wisdom by Your Spirit from the words I am about to read. May they induce transformation in the way that I cultivate my internal and external environments, and may I do so by Your standards, Jesus. In Your Righteous name I pray, Amen. Photo by  Sonja Langford  on  Unsplash Introduction Hi!  I'm Light.  Welcome to “Light Writes”!  This post is a recollection of the main points I collected on the topic “Waiting” whilst sitting in a Bible Study in youth ministry.  Waiting is a season we respond to differently.  What is waiting?  What is its purpose?  Why do we wait on God?  What do we do while waiting?  What are its benefits?  Let's hear what my note reservoir has to say about waiting.  Enjoy! Waiting Waiting (n): Staying where one is or delay action until a particular time or event, at times, done eagerly in anticipation. Key Scriptures: Love is  patient , love is kind . It does not envy , it does not boast , it is not proud . — 1 Corinthians 13:4 Rejoice in the Lord always : and again I say, Rejoice. — Philippians 4:3 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. — Ephesians 4:2 With waiting, there is expectati...

Alone | A Word on Isolation, Healing, and Godly Community

Image
Photo by  Sara Kurfeß  on  Unsplash Introduction You. You have a past of isolation.  Fear.   Doing everything alone.   Over time, you’ve grown accustomed to these dispositions.  I'm writing to tell you that this is your moment.  It’s time.  It’s time for newness in the way you approach battles and relationships.  It's time to heal . .  .  And you can’t do it alone.  You can’t become healed alone. You can’t become free alone. You can’t understand alone. You can’t progress alone. You can’t overcome without another.  Alone, you can do nothing.  You are not meant to; God knows. “The LORD God said, “ It is not good for the man to be alone . I will make a helper suitable for him.” — Genesis 2:18 Prayer Father, Thank You for Your love expressed though godly community.  I admit my fears regarding depending on  those you surrounded me with to help and love me. Allow Your Spirit of peace to rest on me, ...

The Definition of Purpose (Part II)

Introduction What is purpose?  What does “purpose fulfilment” mean?  Hi!  I'm 'Light', and welcome to Light Writes.  In this, Part II of the “The Definition of Purpose” series, I’ll be continuing to focus specifically on defining purpose from the perspective that God is Love.  Before we get into the content, let's pray. Prayer Father, Thank You for Your eternal love. Open my eyes that I may see You and myself rightly. Give me deeper understanding of why You made me. Pour into my heart  through this post, by Your Spirit. Thank You in advance. In Your name I pray, Amen. The Definition of Purpose “. . . and to love.” “for through him  God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth . He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.  Everything was created through Him and for Him .” —  Colossians 1:16 "Then God said, “ Let Us make mankind in Our image, in...
