“Light, Darkness, and Enlightenment” | Light and Darkness (III)

Image
“For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” —2 Corinthians 4:6 The “Light and Darkness” series seeks to impart revelation or a deeper understanding of the nature of the God of Israel, Light, with relation to what we perceive as “reality”.  In this, Part III of the series on light and darkness are simple put-to-pen observations on the two entities’ natural behaviours.  Their features, characteristics and properties are also outlined in ways more straightforward than parabolic.  My Star, as you read, be enlightened. 𝕎𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕚𝕤 𝔻𝕒𝕣𝕜𝕟𝕖𝕤𝕤? Darkness is the absence of light.  It does not exist on its own.  It conceals, and it covers.  It overshadows and overwhelms.  It makes things abstract.  It blinds.  It is deceptive.  It is ominous.  It lies to you by making you think there is nothing there, or that somethi...

Bible Notes: Vessel (Jumping Around Isaiah) | Part II

Image
Quick Recap In Part I of Bible Notes: Grace (Jumping Around Isaiah) , it was highlighted that you are not defined by failure, but by God's unfailing love for you.  Even after failure, you are still chosen, victorious, and loved.  In this, Part II of the series, we venture into affirming you as a chosen, purposed vessel of God.  I pray that you are blessed by my notes. The Bible Notes As stated in Part I, the message from these notes is not for Aunty Soup nor Brother Ham, but for you.  Given the charge and privilege of unfolding this to you, here is the continuation of my lovely, God-given notes on “Grace” (Jumping Around Isaiah).  I hope that you enjoy reading enough to read the rest of this series.  I was reading from the Revised Standard Version, and as always, I advise you to follow in your own physical Bible.  If you do not have one, please retrieve the closest one to you (as well as a notepad, of course)!  Let's get right into it. 💡  Li...

“The People of Light” (II) | Light and Darkness

Image
Recap: Yahweh, the God of Israel, is the “Light” the People of Light follow— the Light of the World.   His radiant presence expels darkness in the mind, heart, and home.  Sadly, for various reasons, the God of Israel is widely misunderstood, even among His own people.   Myths about God's nature are widespread and diverse.  Normally, they are gradually cleared in relationship with Him.  Though misperceived as prideful,  resentful, uncaring, oppressive, silent, impatient and stern, He is humble, blameless, understanding, joyful, can be spoken to transparently, responsive, pure in heart, a true “friend”, liberator, giver of peace and rest, and One who dispels and hates hate.  Oftentimes, His nature completely contradicts what we human beings think of Him, and His desires contradict what we think they are. “Render your heart, not your garments.” Nonetheless and fortunately, God remains who He is, unlimited by limited human understanding. Upon ope...

Bible Notes: Grace (Jumping Around Isaiah) | Part I

Story Time: “Journey to Isaiah 44” One day, the Lord asked me to turn my phone off.  As He spoke, He gave me this vision:  In its main frame was a serene scene.  A Bible was laid open on my bed.   Soft light streamed in like white mist through my nearby window.  A distinctive peace visits me whenever I read the Word of God.  From the vision, this peace emanated.  Though my phone was not in the frame, I had surely received the Lord's message.  The signal must have been bad, though, as I had only received this much:  “Read verses... of chapter... of... in... of the Bible.”  With a smiling heart (and surely not without fighting my desire to continue messaging), I decided to do as He  requested of me.   I abandoned my sweet, dying phone on my parents' dresser to retrieve my Bible.  Upon entering my room, I teetered to a halt.  On which topic did the Lord want me to read?  “Should I read about something good...

“The People of Light” (I) | Light and Darkness

In this day and age, it is unlikely for one to be unaware of the suffering being experienced globally.  We all hear the Earth as she groans.  To preserve our sanity, many of us have covered our ears. Situated within suffering is a peculiar body of people whose hope appears inextinguishable.  Within the Earth grimacing at chaos rises a contrasting melodic sound.  With one voice, the people sing songs of joy and triumph, shifting the atmosphere.  Their words and hands share healing.  Their stories of enduring dark pasts inspire.  Even in dire heartache and grief, their recovery is sure.  Their peace remains unable to be permanently stolen.  Despite the steady decline of society’s circumstances, this people declares resolute, “It is well”.  If they have had and are having the same human experiences as the rest of the world, how do they live beyond the suffering? These people are called the People of Light, Children of the God of Israel. ...
